Back Stateside

After about 40 hrs of active traveling, we've finally arrived back in the good ol' US of A (and are suffering from a little bit if jet lag and culture shock).  Our last few days in Kathmandu were pretty relaxing up to our day of travel which just happened to correspond with Nepal's election day.  It was like something out of a Hollywood movie where we had to be on the move well before sunrise and rely on friendly locals to smuggle us to the airport.

We spent our last days enjoying some of the sights, local watering holes, and shopping of our adopted home city.  After Chitwan, this was our third visit to Kathmandu and we had established a favorite hotel, restaurant, and local friendships.  Specifically, we were deeply touched by the affection of our "Tibetan Mother" at the Utse Hotel.

Our trip is hardly over and we are on our way up to NY city to visit some friends and family.  Next week we will be in MD for Thanksgiving before finally making our way back home to NC.

Till next time!
