Hi everyone!
We heard from a few folks that they enjoyed following our blog while we were traveling and that they were hoping we would continue to post stories and photos of our adventures back home. We completely intended to do this! However, now that it has been almost 18 months since our return back home, I have to admit that we have failed to keep you all informed. But don't worry, you haven't missed much! Hopefully, in the next few days I will do a post on what we've been up to; nothing grandiose as we are still in the planning stages of our next BIG adventure.
While we have been ruminating on our next backpacking tour, a terrible earthquake hit Nepal just before noon on April 25, 2015. We have been very active since that terrifying moment, getting in touch with some of the wonderful people we met while in Nepal to make sure they are safe and unharmed while also organizing relief and rebuilding efforts. We have established a GoFundMe website to fund-raise for one family that was particularly hit hard. We are directly handling the campaigning and distribution of the funds raised for this family and their village. Please check it out and consider donating if you are able: http://www.gofundme.com/sherpaviewlodge.
And lastly, Jeremy is currently in Nepal with Project Hope to try and provide immediate assistance. He arrived in Kathmandu around 5:00 am Eastern time this morning. I will be providing updates on his status and relaying his reports from Kathmandu and the surrounding valley through this blog. Please sign up to follow this blog by email if you want to be notified of his updates.
Thank you all for your support!!
-Tracey
