Today Jeremy recounted his experience with his first day as part of the earthquake relief effort in Nepal. He said there is a lot to learn about the culture's attitude towards mental health and he hopes to develop some treatment plans over the next couple of days. There are still some earthquake victims making their way to hospitals, and Jeremy painted a pretty gruesome scene as people with compound fractures and other earthquake-related injuries are still being admitted. Overall, he said it was a good day and sounded, as always, energized and hopeful. The electricity is very intermittent still and even went out in the middle of our conversation. He got a sim card so that he will, hopefully, be able to communicate more. He just has to figure out how to work it... ;-)
He sends his love and wishes all the mothers a very special Mother's Day!
