Here are some of pur last activities in Italy:
Saturday, September 14th-Tuesday, September 17
On Saturday we traveled back to San Gimigiano to see a Medieval festival in a Medieval town. It was a mellow but interesting event. We then wandered the city, ate more gelato, and picked up Ian & Krystal from the Florence airport. That night we had what proved to be the best meal of the trip in Tavranele at Massimo & Cicilia's (thanks Tom & Sharon)!!! Here are some pics of the dinner:
On Sunday we traveled to the hill towns of Montalcino, Montalpulciano, & Chuisi. First we made a trip to San Antimo Bendadictine church to hear Gregorian chants. The family attended mass while I (Jeremy) strolled the surrounding countryside. The hill towns were great but it was a long day and i wish we had more time in Montepulciano. We bought some wines and headed back home where we consumed the wine and ate a light meal.
Monday Sept. 16th
We traveled to the Cinque Terra and all we can say is Wow!!! It was so breath taking that words do not do it justice. We were based out of Monterosso and Tracey & I hiked to the next town on a very narrow and crowded trail but the views made it worthwhile. We aldo had an amazing seafood meal before the hike.
