The walk to Gimmelwald

In the wake of receiving to bad news about Kitty, we decided to push forward yesterday and still go for the hike we planned.  Speaking of our baby Kitty, she was actually a traveling cat (not that she liked it very much) and, in fact, has crossed the US with us 4 times!  Twice by plane and twice by car.  Therefore, as many of you have suggested, we will be dedicating this trip to her.

We got a later start yesterday than what we had planned so we took the tram up from Lauterbrunnen valley to Grütschalp.  From there we hiked to Mürren, Gimmelwald, down to Stechelberg, and finally back to Lauterbrunnen.  We are not sure how long the hike was in total, but Jeremy was guessing about 9 miles.  That brings our total amount of distance covered to around 85 km (or 53 miles).

The weather held out but it did start to get cloudy at the very end of the day.  We took only a few photos with the phone, but we got some great images with the camera and videos.  Below are the highlights from the phone:

It is overcast and rainy today (and it is also our 6 year wedding anniversary!) so we started with some lounging at the cafe and then we are going to explore our surroundings to see what we can find.  We missed the free lace-making workshop that is held here every Friday afternoon (to Jeremy's chagrin), but exploring the town suits us just fine...
