We are back in Jaisalmer after our 3 day camel safari & it was truly a transformative experience. I do not have too much to say in describing our time in the Thar Desert as words cannot do it justice. It was not easy, so very hot, and sand gets everywhere; however, our guide, Ali (awesome guide & cook), & the staff from Trotters are amazing & gracious people who treat their customers as family and made our safari as comfortable as possible. The camels were also quite friendly & had plenty of character. The desert is a stark & harsh environment, but we loved (almost) every minute of it. We are adding a lot of pics that can hopefully give you an idea of our safari experience:
Nighttime "guard" camel (a camel that wandered away from the other camels to sleep near us on the dune)
Arriving at the dunes for the night
Watching the sunset
Watching another great sunset from the dunes
Our fellow traveler for a day: Eve
The camels are ready for another day
Camels eating during the lunch break (from 11:00 until 15:30, to avoid the heat)
Me with the vicious "attack"/guard camel 😉
Tracey watching a sandy final sunset
